No two days are the same: prevention, incident investigation, team coaching, and international audit preparation are all part of the picture.

Why this role exists

The site manufactures active pharmaceutical ingredients used in treatments for patients worldwide. EHS here goes well beyond compliance: it is a core operational priority embedded in the site's culture. To strengthen this within a growing Business Unit, we are looking for an EHS Specialist who can combine technical rigour with hands-on leadership.

What you will do day to day

•      Serve as the primary EHS contact for your Business Unit, covering incidents, regulatory questions, and inspections.

•      Lead incident investigations and report findings to management.

•      Coach EHS Representatives and Ambassadors on the shop floor.

•      Conduct risk assessments: safety, ergonomics, chemical, and biosafety.

•      Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits (ISO 14001/45001, governmental).

•      Analyse EHS data and drive improvement plans.

•      Develop the multi-year EHS strategy for your Business Unit.

Your environment

You join a structured EHS department, working alongside the Biosafety Officer and Operational Standard Owners. The role is fully on-site in Belgium.

What we are looking for

•      Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or equivalent.

•      2 to 4 years of experience in a biotech or biopharmaceutical environment.

•      Strong communication skills in English (required) and Dutch (a plus).

•      Autonomous, professionally courageous, able to escalate clearly and on time.
